An Untimely and Awkward Encounter

Mission: A Journey to the Stars
Location: Sickbay

Nikki had spent maybe fifteen minutes back in her quarters before she realised that she needed to actually seek medical help for her injuries. No matter how insignificant they may have seemed, she had an ongoing headache that wasn't subsiding, which is why she found herself walking through the doors of Sickbay, glancing around for a friendly face.

Eska came out of the a darken storage room. She was rubbing at her eyes as the contacts where bothering them. "'ello." She said looking at the blurry image in the room.

Nikki sighed inwardly. If Ensign Eska was the medical officer on duty then she was done for. She'd be off duty before she left sickbay again.

Instead of being sour about it, Nikki forced a smile on her face. "Sorry to bother you Ensign," she said lightly. "I was on an away mission and I copped a rather forceful boot to the face. I've got some bruising, but I've had a non stop headache for the last few hours. Can you give me something to make the headache go away?"

It took Eska a few moments to clear her vision, as she looked at the woman. "Have seat." She said going to gather some equipment. "What happen?"

Nikki sighed as she slid onto the bio bed. "I was on an away mission, we thought we had disabled the enemy but it turned out they weren't as disabled as we thought. I tried to move past. One of them grabbed my ankle, I fell, I got a boot to the face. I thought it would ease up on it's own but I've had a headache that just won't quit.

Eska listened with a frown on her face. "You risk bones, often much." She said starting her scans. "You have mild head hurt, with bleed in nuse."

"Part of being a security officer," Nikki said with a shrug. "It's not like I deliberately set out to hurt myself and believe me, it really doesn't feel all that mild." She smirked slightly.

"Common iz." She said looking over the scans. "You Hunter. Risk bones you do. Need to slow the risk of bones." Eska said a bit annoyed. She retrieved a hyprospray. "See Hunters after tunnel fall." She applied the hyprospray to Nikki's neck.

Nikki grimaced at the feel of the hypospray against her neck. "Believe me, I'd really rather not be risking bones." She sighed momentarily and shook her head. "It's part and parcel of the job. Sometimes we get hurt, it's the way it is. Would you like being told you couldn't practice medicine any more because of the risk someone might make you sick?" Nikki countered.

"You risk bone much, needless." Eska stated flatly. "Oot hunting or ress. Need to stop risking bones, needed until."

With a sigh, Nikki decided it was going to be easier to just remain silent at this point. Clearly it was not something that was going to be resolved, they both had very different opinions on the matter.

Eska sighed herself. "Or'rey," she started, "you must limit risk to bones."

"Alright, I'll try," Nikki replied, placatingly. "Am I good to go now?"

"'es." Eska said looking over her scans again. "Any other problems, seek help."

Nikki nodded as she stood up from the bio bed. "Thank you doctor, I appreciate your time," she said genuinely.

"Problems not." Eska said updating Nikki's medical records.
