Ooops a Daisy

Mission: A Journey to the Stars
Location: Sickbay

Nikki cursed audibly as she walked the last distance along the corridor to sickbay, holding her right wrist in her left hand awkwardly, trying to cradle it to stop it from bumps.

As she stepped into sickbay, Nikki cringed inwardly and sighed. She had been here just a few hours ago professing her dislike for this very vicinity and how she would rather do anything but be there, and now here she was, through her own stupidity no less. Her only saving grace at that moment was that sickbay, thankfully, was relatively deserted so there was no one else around to see her making a fool of herself.

Eska watched the woman walk into sickbay. She brought herself out from the counter. "elp, can I?" She stated. Then she spoke slowly again. "How can I help you?"

With a deeply chagrined smile, Nikki held out her right hand, which, without support sat awkwardly twisted. A pained expression crossed her face at the movement in the bones which were clearly broken. "Pretty sure I broke it again," she said with a faint laugh, trying to detract from the fact that she would rather have been anywhere except there. "Can you patch it up Doc?"

"'es." She said gesturing to the biobed. "Risk bones how?" Eska asked getting her tricorder.

Nikki sighed and sat on the edge of the biobed, holding her right arm with her left hand again to try and stop movement. "Honestly, I'm such a klutz. I tripped over a small cargo box I left on the floor of my quarters and I guess I fell awkwardly and borked up my wrist again."

Eska frowned at what the woman told her as she started to scan the broken wrist. "iz om'al?" Then she sighed heavily. "Are you always this much of a klutz?" She asked as checked the woman's medical records.

Nikki felt herself bristling slightly, her lips pursing at the comment. "No!" she stated firmly. Sure, she'd banged her wrist up plenty of times, but usually it was the result of combat training or something else. Not through her own clumsiness. Though, that said, there was a time or eight where she had managed to do something phenomenally silly and cause injury in the process... and this was just another to add to her collection.

"Hmm." Eska hummed. For some reason she didn't believe this woman. "Kay." She finally said. Then she pulled out the dermal regenerater. "I suggest that you take it easy with that wrist." She said very slowly.

"Oh, don't worry, I intend to. I have no desire to keep coming back here at all." Nikki replied with an easy grin.

"Hmm." Eska hummed again as she ran over the wrist. "Once she finished she put her tools away. "If you come back in with another broken wrist I will need to file a report." She said slowly.

Nikki bristled visibly at the threat. "I'm a security officer, bumps, bruises and occasionally breaks are all part of the job. Exactly WHAT would you be filing a report on?" she asked, a shocked expression on her face.

"Un'tand." Eska said in Novan. "I'm concerned with how many times you have broken your wrist." She said more slowly.

"It comes with the territory," Nikki replied with a shrug. "Admittedly today was my own stupid fault, but normally it's in the line of duty. This is actually the first time I've hurt myself in my own quarters."

Eska listened to the woman explain her hurts. "I'm still putting you on light detail, with some therapy." She said slowly.

"Alright, I'll do what I can," Nikki said quietly. "Is there anything else or am I good to go?"

"Make sure you do." Eska said slowly. "But you are free to go."

Sliding off the bio bed, Nikki grinned, flexing her wrist gently. "Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll do my best to stay out of your way in the future," she finished with a laugh.

"Shale." Eska said. "I know you will be back." She said slowly. "Have a good day."
